-Brooklet Avenue: Past-
(Lore of: August Flintlock)
August was a bright, pretty, and hopelessly romantic young girl, and that is when she, at fourteen, started her first relationship with a teenage boy, but it wouldn’t last long, as she would eventually be dumped with not much said. Her first heartbreak. She unfortunately took the end of her last relationship very personally, but would later fall in love again with a girl at the age of 19. This girl was a poet, artist, and someone who, unfortunately, wasn’t planning to stay in The River Town for long, as she came from the city looking for inspiration for her art and would eventually have to leave to return home. That year had some of the happiest moments of August’s life, that girl was the most positively impactful of August’s relationships, but the end of the girl’s study trip came, she had to leave and go back home, and August couldn’t follow. They sent letters for a while, but eventually the letters stopped, and August was left heartbroken once more, worse than the last. In her twenties August would move out of her parents house and move in with an equally heartbroken Barbara Black, who was dealing with a different type of heartbreak, as her best friend Donnella Bellamy had left The River Town to live with a handsome, wealthy man. It would be during this time that August would take up an apprenticeship to become a nurse to be able to pay for herself, and her relationships would take a turn for the worst. During her years of desperation, August would seem to begin attracting the wrong people, and would land herself in a very unhealthy relationship with a manipulative man who would emotionally abuse her. August was stuck in this relationship for years, and managed to pull herself out of it with some support from her roommate. But it wouldn’t stop there, August would attempt to spark a romance one last time, but the woman she was with had too much of an ego to treat her well enough, and growing more and more tired of failing to find love, she would dump the lady herself after not long of them being together. August would then begin to focus on herself and her studies, picking up writing and dusting off an idea she had back when she was 19, The Flintlock Archives. August would then spend the next ten years writing The Flintlock Archives, a compilation of fairytales rewritten by August. After self publishing the first book, it would become very popular among the teens of The River Town, who were all stoked to have an author in their town who was actively writing such exciting stories.
